We're replacing Terraform. Here's why, what we're doing instead, and what we have learned so far
Growth is great until it isn't. For years, features came first and infrastructure debt quietly piled up. Dependencies, slow CI/CD, tight couplings and workarounds made keeping everything updated a nightmare and our reputation got worse each month. This is the story of how we got here, why we're rebuilding instead of fixing, and how Crossplane became central to creating a developer experience people actually enjoy. It is also the story of everything that isn't perfect, the challenges we faced, and why earning developer trust matters more than any architectural decision. Good tooling helps. Being transparent about what's broken helps more. Not overselling what you're building might help the most. You can pick the right technology and still have no one use it if you're not listening.
